Goya's Ghosts

with new review. I am great fan of historically based films and GOYA'S GHOSTS is the epic tale told by the Spanish painter Francisco Goya about the people within his circle of friends who the greatest influenced him and his art. Goya played by actor Stellan Skarsgard, tells us the tale a ill-fated romance, if you will, about a highly influential and cunning member of the Inquisition, Lorenzo, played by actor Javier Bardem, who falls hopelessly in love Goya's teenage muse, Alicia Ines, after she is falsely accused of heresy and sent to prison. As Goya paints and survives in a politically torn Spain at the end of the Spanish Inquisition and start of the invasion by Napoleon armies, we are captivated by his depictions the beauty of the Spanish royal court, its people, as well as his grim portrayals war’s brutality and life in the 1700s”.

 

Since Goya was one of the first artist I studies, this depictions of the famous painter will be a welcome treat to my own artist senses.

06/16/2007 Another one of ROME former stars has made the break into America's
Primetime Television and that is Kevin McKidd, who played Lucius Verenus Pollo (Ray Stevenson) commander in the 13th Legion. This time around, Mckidd plays Dan Vasser a man who has the opportunity the change the past and save the life of a woman he once loved in the new NBC series “The Journeyman”. The series will air on September 24, 2007, Monday nights at 10 PM.

06/16/2007 I found a delightfully funny talk show a couple weeks ago. It is the Graham Norton Show, which airs every Saturday night at 10PM on BBC America. I just love the Norton open and wicked humor.

06/09/2007 Come meet the cavemen this fall on ABC.  branch of the evolutionary limb failed to evolve into the genteel and civilized beings of today. Joel, Jamie, his brother and his best friend Nick are three cave dwellers who live in Atlanta. These three cavemen continually find themselves struggling to fit in and overcome the stereotypes thrown at them because of their physical appearance.

Kate, who is engaged t Joel is from a Southern conservation family. Joel is constantly seeking the approval and respect of her parents. Nick and Jamie's daily emotional demands constantly put Joel's relationship with Kate and his personal contentment the test.

 
The show is based on the popular GEICO "cavemen" commercials and is the

brainchild of Joe Lawson, Will Speck and Josh Gordon. Caveman promises not

only funny but a thought-provoking social commentary on race relations in today's America. Cavemen is scheduled for debut on Tuesday nights at 8PM. Cast of Cavemen Bill English as Joel, Dash Mihok as Jamie, and Nick Kroll as Nick.

SCI-FI New Series - FLASH GORDON

As I stated earlier, I do not like losing an article, so below is the archive copy of the annouements of the SCI-FI new series production of FLASH GORDON, which will air this fall, and the disappointing annoucment that will no be airing BABYLON FIELDS as proviously thought.

It is a well-known fact that today's trend in sci-fi series is going back
to resurrect older comics and early '50s television shows. The first was "Doctor
Who", and now the Sci-Fi Channel is bringing back another old favorite of
millions of us baby boomers, FLASH GORDON. This newest remake of the old
series is scheduled to make its debut in July 2007. To learn more about the

The fate of BABYLON FIELDS, starring Ray Stevenson has been
decided with the annouced of CBS midseason series  It is clear the BABYLON
Field was not selected.  However, if you are still interested in see the show you

Bruce Willis is back as John McClane in Die Hard 4 Live Free or Die Hard

04/26/2007 Well it has been some twenty years but John McClane (Bruce Willis) is back on the big screen. You remember John, he was the NYC cop who singled-handedly, and in his bare feet brought down an international gang of thieves posing as terrorists in a 40-story skyscraper, and in doing so saved 30 hostages, one of which was his wife, Holly.  

 

Since the glorious success of the 1988 film, Die Hard, we have faithfully marched with cash in hand the each of the sequels, Die Hard 2: Die Harder (1990) and Die Hard With An Vengeance (1995). The three films made a neat little trilogy for those of us who are true die-hard fans (just a little pun intended) films. Although we have longed for a fourth installment, we never really thought it would happen. Yet, it has and coming this Fourth of July, we will once again with wide smiles of remembrance go to the theater to watch Bruce Willis at is best in "Die hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard".

 

However this time John McClane a New York City cop is back his home turf and is doing battle with a group of Internet-savvy terrorists lead by one of the world's  best criminal mastermind, who attempts to cripple the United States with an innovative act of technological terrorism.

 

 

The film also stars Justin long and Timothy Olyphan.

 

For us Transformers fans the Fourth of July, and the weekend that follows might see an on rush of viewers for these two old favorites that could make history.
