On Arrow, Change Is On the Rise, And It Looks Great

Atom man

On Arrow there have been many surprises. The first of these
surprises comes after the volatile Roy Harper (Colton Lee Haynes) is trained by Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) to finally
become the Red Arrow.  The second and
total surprise is the death of Sara Lance a.k.a., The Canary (Caity Lotz). However,
don’t believe that The Canary is
dead because like Batman, The Canary is a hero behind a mask.

Now for the most
surprising new addition to Arrow, the debut of Ray Palmer (
Brandon Routh), and if
you are an old, old Dc Comics fan,
then you have figured out that Ray Palmer is the Atom.

Ray Palmer was
originally the creation of
editor and co-plotter Julius Schwartz, writer
Gardner Fox and penciler Gil Kane. The character was introduced to the comic
world in Showcase issue #34 in October 1961, and Atom was one of the
first superheroes of the Silver Age of comic b

Brandon Routh

ooks.

While Palmer started
off as a doctor and later a
professor in the early comics, in Arrow he is a rival billionaire buying out Oliver’s
business,
Queen Consolidated. When Palmer’s alter ego, the Atom, will
make a debut is unknown. However, he is an interesting choice as a revitalized and
near forgotten superhero for the series.

In present day comics Ray Palmer is a member of the Justice
League. As the Atom his special ability is that he can shrink to incredible small
sizes while retaining his full mass and density, making him a formidable
combatant. How his shrinking ability will play out (if it will play out) on the
series this season will be most interesting and fun to see.

Brandon Routh fans will remember him as
Clark Kent in the 2006 movie Superman Returns. Many critics and fans of the
original Superman played by Christopher Reeve expressed their dislike of Routh
in the title role of the film, but today this buffed up hottie can probably say
to them, “Ha, Ha! Ha! Do you like me now?”

Colton Haynes as the
Red Arrow

Arrow’s season 3 return has had a dramatic strong start so
far this year, and there are many questions generated by the first two episodes
alone to guarantee that the fans of the series will return each week.

These questions are:

Caity Lotz  as The
Canary

  1. Who killed Sara Lance, and why?

  2. Does Oliver’s old Hong Kong
connection have anything to do with her death?

  3. Will Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy)
channel her anger enough the pickup Sara’s mask to become the new Canary?

  4. How long can Laurel keep Sara’s death a secret from her father?

  5. How long will it be before the
    Atom makes his debut?

  6. Should Felicity try to hold on to Oliver’s
flip-flop love? Or, should she continue on with her budding relationship and
commit to another that might be able to give her what she needs regardless of
his present secret superhero status?  Mmm hmm ... mmm hmm… mmm hmm; not saying any name but the possibility exists.

  7. After five months of absence, how
much will Oliver dislike Thea (Willa Holland) as her father’s hand taught killing
    machine?

  8. How much of this family feud
between the Queens’ and the Merlyns’ will spill out onto the street of Starling
    City?

  9. How will Roy Harper handle Thea’s
    rejection of him again?
