'Confederate' HBO's Sci-Fi Slave Drama Is A Super Insensitive And Downright Bad Idea

Do the writers, producers, and executives producers that
came up with the idea of rewriting one of this nation's darkest period in recorded
history as a modern day fantasy not truly understand America? Do they not know
that from this dark era of slavery to this present time, America's race
relations still is a simmering pot quietly waiting to erupt under the right or wrong conditions? Have they not seen
or listened to the recent news about the unrest in America on issues such as
minorities being killed with seemingly prejudice,
continuous job lost to balance an unfixable budget, and protests to stop ridiculous
healthcare reforms.

Producers David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, and writers Malcolm and
Nichelle Tramble Spellman have done very well with the award winning series, Game
of Thrones, which is a wonderful imaginative world even if it sometimes drops  subtle references
to other historical moments. However, the issues of slavery, as well as the
continuing struggle for civil rights today, still carries with it many wounds
that tend to retard total human equality across the board.

The memories of slavery and those who fought and died to end
it must be respected and be not portrayed in a sci-fi/fantasy realm for entertainment
and  profit.

Check out Gotham Season 4 Teaser!

That's right there is a surprising glimpse of Bats
in this teaser. However, who is this dark crusader. Is this the 14 year old
Bruce? Has super macho Gordon darn a pair of tights and a cape? Or, is there a
new hero that will help to form Bruce's budding fate as the future superhero of
Gotham.
