Don’t you just love it when a
favorite novel is adapted for the screen. On January 2017, Amazon announce that
the hilarious apocalypse novel Good Omens: The Nice and
Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett have been okayed for a six-part comedy
series scheduled for steaming a debut in 2018. Then, on August 14, 2017, Michael Sheen and David
Tennant were announced as having been cast as the lead actors for the limited
series.
Good
Omens is an apocalyptic
story about how an angel and a demon decide to put away their age old biblical struggle
and join forces to prevent the impending apocalypse. The demon, Crowley, will be played by former Doctor
Who star, David Tennant. The angel Aziraphale will be played by
Michael Sheen (The Twilight Saga).

Neither Crowley nor Aziraphale
want the world to end. They have been living among humans as residents of earth
since the "The Beginning". Each have their own reason for wanting to
stop the apocalypse. For Aziraphale it is that he believes that there is good
in mankind and that they are still worth saving. For Crowley, being the demon
that he is, he does not want to end his fast-pace
libertine lifestyle among the humans.
No matter the reasons for these two unlikely characters
to form a partnership, they are greatly motivated to stop God's plan.
The series will be set in
the year 2018 and streamed as part of Amazon Prime.
I read Good
Omens when it was first published back in 1990. I am now starting a second
reading and highly recommend it as a fun read for everyone.
David Tennant can also be seen as Kilgrave in Season 2 of the Netflix series, Jessica Jones.
