Luther: The Fallen Sun is a
Netflix Original movie that at first I thought was a rerun of the Luther
series. It was due to the continuous running marquee that I realized that it
was actually a movie.

The storyline is clear, after
being sent to prison for his many crimes, in part to his involvement with his
acrhnemesis, Alice Morgan (Ruth Wilson), Luther (Idris Elba) feels he must
escape prison so to catch a serial killer who eluded him in the past.

This is a neat way of
reintroducing Luther back as a crime fighter, but with the police hot on his trail
and one of his two allies, Odette Raine (Cynthia Erivo), a skeptical police officer
(Odette Raine) will Luther be able to catch the killer although the killer has sent
him an invitation to do so.

In addition, will
solving this case, be a prelude to a return of Luther as a series. All five
season of this series is currently streaming on Hulu
and Prime

The Law According to Lidia Poët

As this is Women History month there are several series and films airing on cable, broadcast TV and streaming that acknowledges the successes and failures of the Women Movement around the world. This being stated, I believe that the Netflix series 'The Law According to Lidia Poët ' should be added to the list.

"The Law According to Lidia Poët" is about a young female who struggles to practice law as the first woman lawyer in early yearof the 1880s in Italy. However, being an all male profession at the time, Poët is banned from practicing law and public policy by the same peers of her lawyer brother. Not to be undermined and persistent Poët find a why to practice, if not indirectly, with the assistance of brother a who gradually comes around.

Based on the real life story of Lidia Poët (26 August 1855 in – 25 February 1949), the series offer a look into struggle and successes into one of history most influential woman.

Perry Mason Season 2 on HBO TONIGHT!

If you were around when the old Perry Mason series, starring Raymond Burr, aired backed in the late 1950s and early 1960s, then you watched Burr play Perry as a clean cut, unwrinkled criminal defense attorney, who also solved crimes before them went to trial.

Well, times have changed, and today's Perry Mason series on HBO has Matthew Rhys (The Americans) playing Perry Mason as gritty down and often out 'Marlow P.I.' type attorney, who solves cases while surviving his share of bloody lumps and and bumps during the era of the Great Depression in L.A.

Season 2 of Perry Mason premieres tonight, Monday 6th March 2023 at 9pm (EST) on HBO and HBO Max. 

 

If you have not watched season 1, now is the time. Parental guidance advised.
