If you remember the 2016 movie Train to Busan was
the first successful zombie movie released by South Korea, and a month later
the animated prequel Seoul Station was released. Given the cult success of
these two zombie films, South Korea in collaboration with Netflix will begin
streaming Kingdom.
However, unlike the modern setting of Train to Busan and Seoul
Station, Kingdom
is set in Korea’s medieval Joseon period, and tells the story of a crown prince who is
sent on a suicide mission to investigate a mysterious plague that has spread
across the country. The truth he discovers is that an atrocious zombies epidemic has awaken not
long after his deceased father, the king is mysteriously resurrected. Kingdom will begin on
January 25, 2019 only on Netflix.
