My choice for this year’s best thriller Is ... Monkey Man

Oscar^® nominee Dev Patel (Lion, Slumdog Millionaire) achieves an astonishing, tour-de-force feature directing debut with an action thriller about one man’s quest for vengeance against the corrupt leaders who murdered his mother and continue to systemically victimize the poor and powerless.

Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, an icon embodying strength and courage, Monkey Man stars Patel as Kid, an anonymous young man who ekes out a meager living in an underground fight club where, night after night, wearing a gorilla mask, he is beaten bloody by more popular fighters for cash.

After years of suppressed rage, Kid discovers a way to infiltrate the enclave of the city’s sinister elite. As his childhood trauma boils over, his mysteriously scarred hands unleash an explosive campaign of retribution to settle the score with the men who took everything from him.

Packed with thrilling and spectacular fight and chase scenes, Monkey Man is directed by Dev Patel from his original story and his screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee (Hotel Mumbai, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World).

Disney/Pixar/Star War upcoming Films and Series Release Date

Heads up Disney/Pixar/Star War fans; below are current release dates for upcoming films and series from these studios. However, don’t rush to throw that bag of popcorn in the microwave, because these release will leave panting and restless.

The list:

· Moana 2 the animated series airs on schedule for November 2024

· Tron: Ares on October 10th, 2025

· The Mandalorian & Grogu, on May 22nd, 2026. The movie is an expansion the series.

However, will the series continue while we await the movie?

Din Djarin (The Mandalorian)

The Mandalorian, known to some as Din Djarin, is a battle-worn bounty hunter, making his way through a dangerous galaxy in an uncertain age. Reunited with Grogu, Djarin undertakes a new quest to reclaim a place in Mandalorian society as his scattered people unite to take a stand against the Imperial remnant.

A mysterious child pursued by bounty hunters on behalf of Imperial interests, the foundling Grogu found protection with the Mandalorian Din Djarin. Through their adventures and journeys through the galaxy, young Grogu is honing remarkable abilities. Although he previously trained as a Jedi, Grogu has chosen to return to Din's side and continues to share his adventures as they take a stand against the Imperial remnant.
