MERLIN’S POPULARITY RISES
The wizardly Merlin’s popularity is on the rise. That is, Starz’ Original is casting, Royal Shakespearean actor Joseph Fiennes in the role of a 30ish something protagonist to King Arthur in their new original series, Camelot. Fiennes has just finished working on his role as Agent Mark Benford in the canceled television series FlashFoward. Fans of the Irish- born actor will probably remember his memorable performances in Shakespeare in Love as Will Shakespeare (1998); Elizabeth as Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester (1998); Luther as Martin Luther (2003); and The Merchant of Venice as Bassanio.
Eve Green has also joined the cast of the series. Camelot is due to air in 2011. Stills from FlashForward and Shakespeare in Love
