Samurai Gun - A Review

I just finished watching the anime series Samurai Gun, and although the entire series enclosed with 12-aired episodes and one
unaired episode the series has strong merits for its creation. Check out my
review below that I posted on another site.

---

Sure Samurai Gun is not like Rurouni Kenshin or
Samurai Champloo, but I gave it five stars because of its historical theme.
This anime is set during the Industrial Revolution and the end of feudal Japan.
The new government knew that time of the swore wielding Samurai was dying. Guns
and other explosive devices were to new weapons of choice for the new rulers of
Japan.

Unlike Mugen and Jin from Samurai Champloo and
Rurouni Kenshin,  who were all displaced
Samurai either  searching for peace and
not finding it or a cause that would bring back the Japan them lost, Ichimatsu
in Samurai Gun is on the other side of this spectrum.

Ichimatsu is a willing party of the changes brought
about by the Industrial Revolution. It is does not matter that his motive were
fostered by revenge, he understands that the old world of Japan is no more and
by embracing the way of the gun, he helps bring feudal Japan into the modern
world.

Given this reasoning Samurai Gun is series with a lasting
impression.
