Is was announced a few minutes ago on BBC America Live that the new Doctor Who to replace the leaving Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor, is none other than Scottish actor Peter Capoldi.
As are the series fans, Capoldi was very excited about being named the 12th Doctor Who the international long running hit series.
Matt Smith via web cam congratulated Capoldi on his success in becoming the 12th Doctor Who.
Capoldi is currently working of The Musketeers, which will debut on BBC America in 2014.
Trivia: Doctor Who is the longest-running sci-fi character in television history, beginning in the titled series in 1963.
