2014 Spring & Summer Series Premieres with My Series Cancellation Predictions

If you do not see your favorite series here it has either been renewed already or does not fit this website's established themes.

Okay, on the w World Wide Web  there is has been some pretty interesting predications on what series will be renewed or  canceled this May.  let this be known I am not  diminishing the vast predicators already out there on the web. I just want to add my own.

 Let's start by the networks:

ABC:

Of the ABC series the ones I find most interesting are Marvel's Agents S.H.I.E.L.D, Once Upon A Time, Betrayal, Scandal,  and Nashville. There is no question that each of these is a good and all have had to struggle in the ratings.

However,  despite a exciting season final Betrayal does not have the numbers to sustain its existence on ABC. It is probably already canceled it and the Once Upon A Time spin off Once
Upon A Time In Wonderland.  If these three series survival has depended on a coin toss, I would have enjoyed see Betrayal for a second season. That being stated, I also think that Nashville will be cancel . while the music is great, the storyline lack the strength to hold my attention.

Then there are the candidates for renewal.  after a slow an seemingly uninteresting plot to which I have come to believe now to be slow flirtation with the audience, Marvel's Agents S.H.I.E.L.D  has earned its right to be renewed. having the character of Sif on the series did hurt either.  along with Scandal, Once Upon A Time should also be renewed.  although actress Kerry Washington who plays Olivia Poe is/was pregnant during much of this second season, they hid her condition well, and had some very strong stories that easily made you forget that there was no hip bumping between Olivia and President Grant and Jake Ballard.

Although early, Resurrection will probably to be cancel. I predict this because it remind me too much of
the USA Network series The 4400 in which a lot of missing person returned from a aliens kidnapping to save Earth.  While in ABC Resurrection the people are seemingly returning from the dead, the government is still interested in whether these people are a threat and how these clones with effect mankind.  I think the dead is this series should have reminded dead. My interest waned with the second episode.

CBS:

While CBS is one of the oldest network on television, in the recent years there has been on few series that have intrigued me enough watch missing episode on Demand and on CBS network.  in my opinion these three series are some of the network best entertainment.  They are Elementary, Person  of Interest, and Under to Dome. While these series are a little off center in charter characterization and the way storylines are played out keep me restless for the next episodes.

THE CW:

The CW is a testament that teens and young adults are doing more than watching television.  Possessing  the lowest ratings of all the networks series on television for a few years now, The CW choice of series are not from poor writing. Instead, many of the series suffer from low rating because people are watching the competition's series.  Nevertheless, in spike of low rating for many of The CW series , fine storytelling is keeping the series on the air.

First the 'yes  they should be renewed":

Arrow, a DC Comics favorite
Reign, a beloved historical period piece of a young Queen Mary Of Scotland
Supernatural, the Winchester boys are continue to fight the minions of Hell and their own fate
The Originals, already renewed, I just wish the series would break away from some of the tale tell Vampire Lestat plotting.

The Tomorrow People, although the other sites are predication cancelation, I believe this series has proven itself creativity enough to gain a strong audience. In my opinion is has been a much strong showing than ABC Marvel's Agents S.H.I.E.L.D.

The 100 only a few episodes have aired of this newbie series but it is a more interesting and adventurous series and is better than than, Star-Crossed because for the survivors of The 100, earth is a dangerous place.

The Vampire Diaries - although I am worn out by the number of doppelgangers popup when needed on the series. the series is already renewed but I see room for improvement is weekly storyline.

 New Series Of Interest:

Lucien Laviscount  and David Hayden
in Supernatural Bloodlines.

Should the Supernatural series spin-off Supernatural Bloodlines be given the "Go"? After the episode, "Supernatural Bloodline", that recently aired, I consensus is "yes" as series it would be  refreshing and its location in Chicago interesting as there has nit been a horror series based in the city since Darren McGavin in "Kolchak: The Night Stalker". the idea of pair a human cop with a shape-shifter is an interesting twist in the hunters motif.

Now The Series That Should Be Cancels:

Beauty and the Beast,  while I like that Kat is a modern woman and Vincent is a genetic accident, the story of beauty and the beast has always been one of redemption gains through selfless love.  The series will complete its third season starting on June 29. 2014.

Star-Crossed, if I wanted to watch Romano and Juliet I pop in my favorite VHS or DVD.  the struggle of the aliens is Star crossed bring to the forefront the struggles on foreign immigrants everywhere. American does not like their failing mirrored on screen.

As far as the low rating, here an idea. Instead of cramming all their most popular shows into the work week and leaving the weekend for running old series. Perhaps adding several new and highly creative series  on the weekend (say from 7 pm - 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday) may draw new interest among the teen set.  But, as I say, this is just an idea.

FOX:

First the 'yes  they should be renewed":

Bones and surprisingly Sleepy Hollow are renewed, and I am ready to discover how Ichabod will be rescued Abbie from Purgatory and the demon Malish.

New Series Of Interest:
Gotham  episode were ordered on May 5 and will air later this year.

Now The Series That Should Be Cancels:

Almost Human,  this series has already been canceled by the network.

BBC AMERICA:

New Series Of Interest:

BBC Americas newest series of interest is The Musketeers, which roll out on June 22, 2014.

First the 'yes  they should be renewed":

Atlantis - this series was a tossed up for me between renewal and cancelation because the plots were so familiar to past fantasy series in its genre. however, Atlantis appears to have a strong enough following that BBC network has renewed it for a second season.
Ripper Street has been renewed for a third season beginning in 2015.

NBC:

First the 'yes  they should be renewed":
Revolution - last year I was all for the cancelation of this series because, I just did not believe that civilization could/would fall just because the power went out. Seriously, if such a thing did happen I have fate in humanity to find ways to continue life without falling into complete global chaos. Now an year has passed and I am hook on the series if for no other reason than to discover if they will survive to turn the light back on or will the nano beings will destroy what remain of human life.

Dracula - while I like the direction of this new adaptation of Bram Stoker novel, the change appear to be too far from the original story for some viewer. I say, yes renew, but the census are probably right and the series will be canceled.

New Series Of Interest:

Crossbones NBC's series will debut May 30, 2014 on Fridays at 10/9c. mega star and Emmy winning actor John Malkovich plays Edward Teach, the barbarous pirate Blackbeard.  it will be interesting to see how this series will measure up to Starz's Black Sails.

TNT Network:

 New Series Of Interest:

TNT has several news premiering this summer.  however, there are only three I find interesting. they are Murder in the First, The Last Ship, and Legends.

Now The Series That Should Be Cancels:

Dallas - for a series that lost one of its major character, JR Ewing senior played by Larry Hagman a little more than a year old, Dallas has worked hard to reestablished itself as a major series on the TNT. however, if this season has done well enough to merit a fourth season is doubtful in my mind as so much of the storyline has gone into defining JR junior on history of his father dirty deeds. In addition, Sue Ellen blaming first JR senior and now JR junior for her relapse into the bottle only make one glad she dropped her campaign to run for political office. She have always been too weak to cope with the Ewing's doings. While, there were many  intriguing moments with in the  plots to overthrow the Ewing's by Cliff Barnes, Elena Ramos and unbeknown to them, the Cartel and finally the Ryland family, too much clinging to the Ewing's  past sins is probably going to kill the series.  In any case. the series will return to complete season three beginning on  August 8, at 9 p.m.

SUBSCRIBED CABLE SERIES:

STARZ:

Ever since Starz started airing more originals series their programming has improved with such series as Da Vinci's Demons and  Black Sails. Two series we want to see next year.

New Series Of Interest:
Outlander and Power are two new Starz's  Original Series that are showing promise as series to watch this summer.

SHOWTIME:

New Series Of Interest:

Showtime known for great such great series as The Tudors and The Borgias, now has Penny Dreadful. After watch the first episode of this series, Night Work, I found the series a winner in its portrayal well known characters from several classics novels, such as a young Dr. Victor Frankenstein and Dorian Gray.  The origin the vampires from Egypt and was a new twist and there will probably more intriguing twists as the series progresses. the series premieres this Sunday at 10 PM ET/PT.Watch the Series Premiere Now.
Well, there you have they, and we will see how my prediction adds up at the of this month.
