MTV'S THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES



The Shannara Chronicles
is an upcoming American television series set to premiere on January
5th, 2016 on MTV. The series stars are Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett,
Austin Butler, Poppy Drayton, Emelia Burns, and John Rhys-Davies.

The Shannara Chronicles is an adaptation  of Terry Brooks' fantasy novels (The Sword of Shannara, The Elfstones of Shannara, and The Wishsong of Shannara)
and involves the aftermath of the wars of  ancient evils, featuring
gnomes, elves, warlocks, Druids, and many other fantasy characters. The
story also includes a 'Sword' that can only be used by the true heir of
Shannara.

 In the television series  The Shannara Chronicles is
set thousands of years after the destruction of the known civilization,
and the story follows Amberle, an Elven Princess, Wil, a half-human
half-elf, and Eretria, a human, as they set out on a quest to stop a
Demon army from destroying the Four Lands.
 





Terry Brooks has stated in an interview
that he is happy with the way his story has been adapted.
