I didn't expect to like this modern adaptation of
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. However, I found it to be a good  portrayal because it not only followed her
original storyline by artfully incorporating key elements from the original
story into today's setting, the point of view was that of Adam, the monster.  You have the rejection of Victor Frankenstein from
the moment Adam started decaying, his abandonment by Marie when he needed her
the most.  Adam cease to be the source of
their pride and became an imperfect thing that they believed must be destroy to
bury their failure. Nevertheless, it was his decaying and imperfect put
together body that made him look monstrous and less than a man. Once he had escaped
the lab, it was the humans he encountered and their abusive treatment of him
that brought out his monstrous side. Yet in truth, Adam was  no more than a lost and confused being trying
to survive in a  world full of Victor
Frankensteins.  All he sought was love,
understanding, and acceptance. In the end these were the very things he accepted
that he would never have, not while being the creature that he was in a world like
the one Mary Shelley envisioned.

I also felt that the hoodie, intended or not, was a
nice touch, as today, hoodies represent innocents lost.
