Miss, Lucy!?

That is, do you miss our favorite all-time leather cladded, sword thrusting and chakram flinging star, Lucy Lawless as Xena, Warrior Princess.

It is surprising that it has been twenty-one years since this heroic female warrior of the defenseless rode across ours television screens to right the wrongs of evil oppressors, as well those of her own.  Since the end of the Xena, Warrior Princess Series, back in 2001, Lucy Lawless has only been seen in a few films and television series, which were assessable to here in the US. They included Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Parks and Recreation, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena, Spartacus: Vengeance, Salem, Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars, and Celebrity Duets.

Lucy has also done quite of bit of voice work in popular animation productions some of which are Wonder Woman in Justice League: The New Frontier, Nunchuck in Minions: The Rise of Gru, and of course her iconic role of Xena in Hercules and Xena – The Animated Movie.

All this being said; it is clear that Lucy made a lasting impression and has been missed. However, there is good news, although not a live action flick, Lucy can be heard in the upcoming adult animated film The Spine of Night as Tzod on Shudder.

The Spine of Night is an extremely dark and violent animated horror film in which the heroes must save a land of magic spanning more than a century and many cultures against a malevolent power bestowed in the users of a magical plant.

The other stars joining Lucy in the film are Richard E. Grant, Patton Oswalt, Betty Gabriel and Joe Manganiello.

The Spine of Night will debut on Shudder on Thursday, March 24, 2022.

As for her most recent live-action work, fans can watch both Lucy Lawless and Renee Connor in the Acorn TV series, My Life Is Murder, just got renewed for season 3.
