The Mayfair Witches saga consist of three novels and three crossover novels from the Vampire Chronicles that includes The Witching Hour (1990), Lasher (1993), Taltos (1994), Merrick (2000), Blackwood Farm (2002), and Blood Canticle (2003).
Here is a brief bio on Lasher and the Mayfair witches from The Witching Hour novel.
- Lasher - He has haunted the Mayfair women for centuries. He is a dark compelling demon that is irresistible and an evil spirit wanting to be born from one of the Mayfair witches by any means.
- Julien Mayfair - Julien is Marguerite’s son by Tyrone McNamara, but he loves spending time with his grandmother, Marie Claudette. Born at Riverbend, he possesses greater witches’ gifts than anyone else in the family at that time. He can read minds, see events in other places, move matter and cause fires with his will, and see ghosts and auras. Since he can see Lasher, he asks Marie Claudette many questions about the spirit and learns a great deal about the Mayfair history and the family’s powers. He also discovers the trick that can distract Lasher: by playing music, he can say things that he does not want the spirit to hear. In appearance Julien share some traits with Lestat.
- Mary Beth - Mary is described as a beautiful woman who habitually wore men's clothes. Daughter of Katherine Mayfair and born in 1872; baptized and registered as Darcy Monahan's daughter even though she was born ten months after his death, thus making her Julien's daughter. Her powers and abilities include telepathy, spirit communication, and like her father Julien bilocation.
- Mona Mayfair - Mona was born in 1983. She was born to Alicia Mayfair and Patrick. Who are both alcoholics. Mona grows up adventurous and rebellious. In the last novel, Blood Canticle, Lestat makes her into a vampire in 2003, so she can live with her vampire lover, Tarquin Blackwood.
- Rowan Mayfair - She is described as a tall, beautiful angel-like androgynous woman with ashen blond hair, piercing grey eyes, and a very seductive whiskey voice. She is the daughter of Deirdre Mayfair, who was the designee of the Mayfair Legacy but was institutionalized for madness making Rowan the new designee. Taken by her great aunt, Carlotta Mayfair, Rowan grew up to be a gifted doctor . Her paranormal gifts include the ability to know if a patient would survive surgery, or indeed if they needed it, just by touching them, to save lives.
- Deirdre Mayfair - Deirdre, only child of Antha and mother of Rowan . She had black hair, blue eyes, was active, rebellious and sensuous. She knew little of her mother who died when she was a baby and even less of her grandmother. She was raised by Carlotta , who believes she was part of a long chain of evil witches and that Lasher was the Devil.
- Michael Curry - Born and raised in the Irish District of New Orleans, Michael also saw Lasher as a child and never forgot his face. While visiting a California beach he is swept off the rocks by a wave and drowns. Having been dead for an hour he is rescued and brought back to life by Rowan with her paranormal gift.
The Mayfair Witches is a new 6 episode TV series that will air on AMC and stream on AMC+. Filming for the series is now in production, and the Mayfair Witches will air later in this year.
