Star Wars latest addition to its ever expanding franchise is
the new series, Andor, which is set for streaming on August 31st on
Disney+. The series is said to start five years before Cassian Andor’s involvement
as a member of the Rebel Alliance in the 2016 film Rogue One. Like Mando in the
series The Mandalorian, Andor is considered another breakout character in the Star
Wars Universe and is played by actor, Diego Luna.
Andor began his life as a thief. However, when the Empire came
and all but destroys his home planet, Andor discovers that he has a greater
destiny and he hones
those skills and others into powerful assets.
Andor has been
described as a “human male soldier, pilot, and intelligence
officer who served in the Confederacy
of Independent Systems during the
Clone Wars, and, later, with the Alliance
to Restore the Republic during
the Galactic Civil
War. Andor was a skilled
operative, working as a spy and an assassin, performing many missions for the
Alliance”. -- Wookieepedia
Now, actor Diego Luna is taking his portrayal of Andor down
from the big screen where he brought Cassian Andor to life, and to continue the
character’s journey in the streaming Star Wars series Andor this fall.
