CBS Stalker, Dismal Waste Of Time Or A Diamond Waiting To Shine?

As a fan of Maggie Q (Nikita) a recent article has
me wondering if her new series The Stalker, which is set to debut on CBS
Network this October 1st, is really a show worth the watch.  In the online article, These
5 new shows fail to impress
, by Frazier Moore, an AP television writer, he
writes:

"STALKER" (CBS, premieres Oct.
1). Violence Porn packaged as crime drama. Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott co-star
in what’s billed as a “psychological thriller” about the Threat Assessment Unit
of the LAPD. The cases this pair investigates only fetishizes a
depravity-of-the-week as each episode goes through the motions of condemning
it.

Giving that Fox's series The Following is reportedly one of
the most disliked series on their network but has lasted two seasons and
miracle of miracle was renewed for a third season, will viewers Of Stalker and
especially long-time fans of Maggie Q be turned off by a series described as a
"Violence Porn packaged", that ... only fetishizes a depravity-of-the-week?

In another article too depressing to mention Stalker
has been described as mediocre. The problem with following one's favorite stars
is that viewers must remember that although these stars thrilled them in other
movies and TV series that they are just that, actors doing a job, and that any
attachment to them the viewers might have because of the favorable roles the
actors had in past productions not all of the roles they might have will be to
the viewers liking. Lucy Lawless's role in Starz's Spartacus for some of her
fans is a fine example.

So what does this mean for Stalker and Maggie Q
which has yet to air? Remember if the series fails, that it is another role for
Maggie Q, and her fans will have the privilege of seeing her again in many future
roles on the big and small screen.
