Finally, a series about the Star Wars Sith!

 Since the US release of ‘Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom
Menace’ on May 19, 1999, I have always wanted to see and know more
about the sinister minions of Palpatine a.k.a. Darth Sidious and leader of the Sith.
Although Darth Maul,  the red and black
tattooed Sith, appeared in his true form in a couple of scenes, and the major
scene being his fatal battle with Obi-Wan, the impression that he left behind was
enduring and made me believe we needed to know more about the Sith world. 

It is also note worthy that Darth Maul was an apprentice of
Darth Sidious' Zabrak Sith.

This being said, it has been announced that Disney Plus has
‘The Acolyte’ in development as a new Star Wars series about the Sith.  It has also been announced that actress
Amandla Stenberg is Disney’s number one choice for the lead role, and that her
character will follow the directive of a Dark Lord. 

According to Disney and Lucasfilm “The Acolyte” will take
place in the final days of the High Republic era of the “Star Wars” timeline
and will focus on the emergence of the secretive dark side powers. It is
speculated the storyline of the series will follow the premise that an acolyte
is trained in all that makes up the Sith philosophy.
