Hemlock Grove: Teen Wolf Meets Young Dracula

I expected the usual scripted story about werewolves or a
least a family of werewolves. What I found was an interesting twist in vampire
and werewolf bond with gypsies mystics included. From the beginning, Hemlock
Grove surprised and horrified me. The transformation from human into wolf was
the most gruesome act to date. It very was realist in its goriness. The fact
that the wolf ate its cast-off flesh made sense. However, it only proved that
in Hemlock Grove there were supernatural beings afoot

.

After the transformation, the mystery of Hemlock Grove and
is residents seem to slow to near dragging, and although there is the discovery
of an evil creature killing young girls, the real mystery seems to be the
Godfrey family. Just what where they?

The Godfrey's kept the series of Hemlock Grove interesting
enough for me to stay with it. In spike of the subdue hints towards vampirism,
and up until the last episode I had my doubts as to what the Olivia Godfrey and
children, Roman and Shelley were. They appeared human, didn't they? However,
due to the sinister scientist working for the Godfrey one wondered how he fits
into the Godfrey's lives. In addition to this, what is in the box back at the
Godfrey's lab that Roman finds it horrifying?

The fact that another monster was afoot added to the
confusion of why Olivia's Morticia like demeanor and Roman troublesome
obsession for blood really meant, why that mystery set them apart from the
other people of Hemlock Grove. When all the answer came together, I was more or
less disappointed in the fact that I had disregarded the obvious hints for a
more fanciful conclusion that never materialized. What important is in Hemlock
Grove the story of wolf man meets young Dracula is an original and interesting
twist to a much older tale.

Regardless, and in spike of Hemlock Grove raw language and
dragging plot line, the series earned its  '4 stars' if for nothing its presence day twist.
Yet, I do not see a sequel. So if viewers are look forward a second season,
Like Borgias, another of Netflix's original series, I doubt that there will be
more forthcoming from Hemlock Grove and it residents.
