Witches, witches everywhere, where are mortal souls to sleep?

Yelp! Here’s more about witches. This time, former Nikita star Shame West is starring in the lead in WGN America  first original series, appropriately entitled Salem. According to the Hollywood Reporter, West plays John Alden, a "handsome, tough, pragmatic, and wry-humored,” ex-solider returning  to his hometown of  Salem after 10 years of war and captivity by Indians to find that his town and himself embroiled in a hunt for witches.

The series promise to be  “centered on an epic romance wrapped around an explosive revelation, delivers a bold new vision of Salem -- and an even bolder new vision of witches.”

Also among the Salem’s budding cast is former Tudors stars Tamzin Merchant. She plays Anne Hale. The a beautiful, intelligent, forthright, confident, and a talented artist, who is attracted to John Alden. Hale is unaware of his history with Mary Sibley ( Janet Montgomery).

For all her intelligences and talent, Anne is a fearless girl,  She often goes to the graveyard at night to sketch the gravestones and this is where she runs into Alden, whom she'd like to draw,  it is Anne infatuation with Alden that, unbeknown to Anne, makes Mary her most formidable enemy.

West joins former Nikita cast member Xander Berkeley, who plays Magistrate Hale. West a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native should feel at home in WGN America supernatural drama of Salem. The first 13-episodes begin production this fall for a 2014 premiere.

For all you diehard Nikita's fans, the final-six, which comprises season four of the series final season debuts Wednesday, November 20, 9/10C on The CW.
