The Disaster of 'Whitney', The Lifetime TV movie

The Lifetime TV movie, ‘Whitney’ aired tonight. I sincerely believe that this biopic on  Whitney Houston's life would have been more enjoyable with less sex scenes and the singer Deborah Cox acting in the role of Whitney, as well as singing with her amazing voice.

Having stated this, the best thing about the disaster of the Lifetime TV movie of “Whitney” is that it later this evening it was followed by “Whitney Houston Live: Her Greatest Performances, which was hosted by her manger and lifelong friend Clive Davis. I am sure millions of Whitney Houston’s fans were just as delighted as I was to see and to listen to this airing of Whitney singing her greatest songs.

Although not included in tonight production of Whitney Houston Live, if there is any one song of Whitney Houston that described her determination to survive her struggles it is “Try It On My Own”. This song not only reveals her willingness to move forward as a divorce mom, but like all her music “Try It On My Own” reaches deep into the heart of every woman who has had to start life over on their own.

Whatever happened to cause Whitney to return to drugs will always remain a mystery. Yet, perhaps in the future a more endearing adaption of Whitney Houston’s life will find its way to the screen.
